SZD-51-1 "Junior" fibreglass single. The Junior is designed as a "club ship", one that will take the additional use of all our members. It will boast the best performance in our fleet at 35:1, and it has a nice 'light', well coordinated feel on the controls. It has a robust structure and oversized fixed gear for worry free landings on or off the club fields. Equipped with an electric vario in addition to the standard instruments, VHF radio and boom mike, the Junior will let our club members comfortably and safely explore cross country flying.
Schweizer 2-33, the "standard" trainer for many years in North America. It handles the rougher takeoffs and landings by student pilots during the training period with ease. It is a very gentle aircraft on which to learn. It is of "low" performance having a 23:1 glide ratio, but it climbs very well in thermals and lets a student build his/her confidence through early solo flights.
SZD 50-3 "Puchacz" is used for introductory training lessons. The Puchacz has a 32:1 glide ratio, it is very comfortable and handles well. It can also be used for cross country training. After initial solo flights in the two seater, the student moves to the
Schweizer 1-26 single. It has the same 23:1 glide ratio as the 2-33, so its range will be familiar to the student. It has a 'sporty' feel with its shorter wing span and allows the student to get comfortable in a smaller ship of modest performance. The 1-26 has a very loyal owner group in the U.S. and many "1-26 only" contests are flown.
